Patient Participation Group

The Upton Village Surgery Patient Participation Group consists of volunteer patients and GP Practice Staff who meet regularly to maximise the opportunity for positive change in the local health service and to develop a more informed patient community.

Non-urgent advice: Our Aims

  • Encourage a collaborative forum between the Practice and our Patient Community
  • Provide a patient perspective to the Practice
  • Help encourage patients to influence their local healthcare services with their ideas and opinions
  • To identify services and issues where the Practice should consult with patients, consider any comments resulting from these consultations and support the Practice in responding to them
  • To support the practice with projects, drafting communications and other feedback
Our accomplishments:
  • Created and sent a patient survey in 2023, leading to significant practice improvements including phone and online access as well as waiting room improvements
  • Hosted NHS App Support drop-in sessions to help patients access digital services and provided education on how to use the system for prescription ordering or viewing medical records
  • Liased with other local PPGs to gather feedback and support
  • Created a patient survey for 2025 to help gather important information regarding communication and what improvements or services patients would like to see (results to follow shortly)
  • Provided valuable comments to help with the launch and the communication that was sent to patients ahead of the launch of the new Digital Front Door (Blinx PACO (Digital Front Door)
