Annual Reviews
All patient's with a chronic disease such as Asthma, COPD, Diabetes etc will be reviewed annually by our Practice Nurses. You will be invited for your review by letter, around your birthday. If you do not receive a letter and have a chronic disease, please contact Patient Services.
It is important that you attend the surgery for your annual review as this allows our clinical staff to complete and check your bloods, review your blood pressure, document and review your BMI as well as looking at general vital signs. In some instances, it is important to have your kidney function checked annually as well as having your medication's reviewed to ensure that they are working correctly. In doing so the nurse will also confirm if your condition is well controlled.
For asthmatic patient's it is important to have your inhaler technique checked by a qualified and trained nurse, even if you are showing no symptoms - By doing so, you can hopefully keep your asthma under control all by just attending a 20 minute appointment, once a year.
Your annual review also provides you with a chance to ask questions around your condition and helps you to be involved in your own care. You can then, in partnership with one of our clinicians, plan your care and learn how to manage your condition effectively.
Contraception
Our practice nurses and doctors provide full contraceptive services. We provide implant removal and new insertation. You will need to book a telephone appointment with the GP to discuss and book a follow up appointment for the procedure with the practice nurse.
NHS Healthcheck
We offer full Health Checks to all patients aged 40 - 74. We will be systematically asking all our patients to come for one of these over a 5 year rolling period. However, if you would like to have a health check before your recall please ask our Patient Services Team.
Minor Surgery
Many minor operations can be done by our GP in the surgery, often avoiding the need for you to attend the hospital. Please make an initial appointment with the doctor to assess the problem. If you require a minor operation that can be done in the surgery we will schedule you for the next available clinic. These are undertaken monthly.
